Probably my biggest adventure in trad climbing for now. In early January Kamen Nedkov, Geleto (neznam), Marto Marovski and me got psyched to climb Geyik Sivrisi(1715) as we were camping in its foot for nearly a month, while sport climbing in the famous climbing destination Geyik Bairi. Fast check in the guide book in Josito restaurant; me and Marto chose the Maison Shallom route climbing left from the main central arete; we perceived the style of our ascent as Darmadan style. Early start and getting lost in the lower part of the wall put us in a slow nervous zigzaging for probably 4 hours until we reached the main face. The nice sunny day changed to a thick fat fog. We were thinking of giving up at one point, but continued to the top a muerte. Fast climbing in the white clouds, listening to the dogs barking in the camps and cars monotonously driving up and down. The wall was really loose and difficult to read, with allot of possible ways to go, no bolts and constantly in the shade. The walk down was also not straightforward, with some cruxes and rappelling in unknown terrain(:. The ascent took us 9 hours and the walk back to the camp 10- about 20 hours non stop movin.
Also Geleto and Kamen climbed the route on the right in the same day, with bad weather conditions they got to the top, but too late, which made them bivouac on the way down. At the end we all came down alive (best part) and having experienced some of the "bigger" climbing of Turkey. Thanks to Marto for the great experience. Thanks to Senol who drove us and showed the area and all the tricks. Kezban's camping for the hospitality and kasar ::)
